Gislöv

Gislöv is a collection of houses and farms spread around a four-way intersection five kilometers southwest of Simrishamn and is one of the smallest villages in Österlen. In Gislöv there is also a hotel with an excellent restaurant, Karnelund, and Skåne's building conservation center. The nearest village with services is Skillinge, where there are various shops, elderly care, restaurants and a shipyard. A number of popular bed & breakfast establishments are located in the area for understandable reasons.

One kilometer southwest of the village is Gislöv's star, a beautiful deciduous forest bordered by extensive natural pastures. During spring and early summer you can enjoy the splendid flowers, inventive birdsong and the play of the bell frogs. In the middle of the forest is the popular Stjärnan amusement park, which in its time attracted thousands of dancers and entertainers to various events (The Who played here on October 22, 1966!). The countryside around the village is dominated by fields, but here and there the mountain is exposed and in several places around Gislöv you can see traces of quarrying.

The four roads that meet in Gislöv lead to Simrishamn, Brantevik, Skillinge and Borrby. You can easily cycle the two kilometers to the beach at Gislövshammar. Skillinge is three kilometers to the south and Simrishamn half a mile to the northwest. There is a bus connection south towards Skillinge and Ystad and north towards Simrishamn.
