Brantevik

A genuine environment in an idyllic location. Brantevik is the fishing village where time certainly doesn't stand still, even though its heyday occurred just over a hundred years ago. Today, the village is bustling with activity, especially in the summer with various cultural events.

The Wednesday "Jazz under the Stars" concerts are nationally recognised, with Sweden's elite jazz artists attracting thousands of visitors. In the harbour is Branterögen, a rocky meeting point with live music for food and drink a couple of evenings a week in summer. In the immediate vicinity of the fishing village there are cafés, farm hotels, hostels, bed & breakfast facilities, doctors and craftsmen of various kinds.

Just south of the village, at Hylkan, is the antique and gift shop and café Hylkegården as well as the cultural initiative Mårten Pers Källa with both an art gallery and a theatre stage. The buildings in the fishing village are very varied, from small estates that meander close to the sea, terraced and terraced houses, condominiums, to ultra-modern houses with a distinct environmental focus. A true Brantevik resident loves the Vejakåsen village bathing area.

Via a beautiful pedestrian and cycle path you can reach both Simrishamn five kilometres to the north and Skillinge about the same distance to the south. Very popular is the Grönet walking area south of Brantevik down towards Gislövshammar. The nearest school is in Simrislund, four kilometres to the north.
