The small but elongated village of Brännorna, in Tomelilla municipality, on both sides of road 1672 between Onslunda in the south and Ekerödskorset in the north are located in varied terrain where mixed forest groves coexist with arable land.
Brännorna is home to a wooden house company, a renowned gallery, Ateljé Brännorna, with ceramics in particular, which is visited by many art and craft enthusiasts during the annual art tour at Easter time, as well as a successful riding pony stud and training stables.
Until the middle of the last century there was active mining in Brännorna. Galena, sphalerite and chalcopyrite, but above all fluorspar, were mined here. The traces of mining can still be seen in nature if you make the effort.
The nearest towns with services of various kinds, including schools, are Onslunda a few kilometres to the south, St Olof just over five kilometres to the north-east. In to Tomelilla it is about 1.5 kilometres.
