Smedstorp

Vibrant and growing village.

When the railway Simrishamn -With the electrification of Malmö and the introduction of passenger trains running about 12 times a day in each direction, new air was breathed into the lungs of old Smedstorp, and the village is now a very lively and expanding community. You can also travel by bus from Smedstorp. It takes 12 minutes to Tomelilla, 20 minutes to Simrishamn and just over an hour to Lund.

Smedstorp is now a good housing option for many people who can imagine commuting to work. There is also childcare, school, grocery store, postal service, hairdressers, carpentry factory, fire station, car company, library etc.

Just west of Smedstorp along national road 11 is the well-visited Ingelsta Kalkon. The community life is rich and the village has a whole range of talented craftsmen and artists and galleries. Especially during the Easter art round, activity is lively in the village. Many people visit the blacksmith's gallery with its exquisite garden, for example.

Smedstorp has bingo golf, an open-air swimming pool, tennis and boules courts, jogging tracks and a sports ground where Smedstorp's IF mainly plays football. The farmed landscape dominates around the village, but the forested Listarumsåsen in the north is a clear exception.
