This experience offers a two-day gastronomic journey through Scanian and Swedish food culture with a focus on fire.
We start with the most Swedish thing there is - "fika" and tell you a little about Österlen, the surroundings and the layout of the stay. Then we go together to the campsite. We learn how to make a fire with lit steel and a knife. Then it is important to keep the fire alive.
Together we prepare a culinary meal of four dishes based on locally produced ingredients such as game from our forests, lamb from our meadows, vegetables and spices from the garden and fields. If we are lucky, we will have wild salmon from Johan, our fishing guide. This will be a journey in Swedish flavors and the story behind the Scanian food will be told by your guide and host.
Around the crackling fire, we then enjoy what we have cooked ourselves to the sound of rustling trees. When darkness falls and if the sky is clear, you will be treated to a fantastic starry sky and perhaps see a deer or fox at dusk. Satisfied and tired, you walk home through the meadow street to your cozy room to fall asleep between cool linen sheets. For breakfast you will be served the house's famous breakfast, "Breakfast for life lovers".
The accommodation is exclusive as you dispose of the entire Villa Gina Österlen, the small exclusive hotel in the heart of Österlen.
Do you have the opportunity to explore the surroundings and maybe visit an art exhibition, have a nice lunch in an apple orchard or just stroll on the beach.
Check-in at 13:00.
After you have settled in one of our four rooms, we gather for an authentic Swedish "fika" - coffee/tea Swedish sandwich and homemade Swedish specialties such as cinnamon bun and jam cake. We tell you about Villa Gina, the surroundings and the arrangement of the stay.
At 15.00 we will gather at the campsite to prepare a culinary dinner of local specialties and enjoy it by the campfire.
We agree on a breakfast time to be enjoyed the following morning.
On the second evening, we offer a secret dinner with a familiar Villa Gina touch. Before dinner, we have invited Helena Thiman who is our friend, wine importer and fantastic and inspiring sommelier. Together with you, Helena has a wine tasting.
Maybe the evening ends in our sauna or wood-fired hot tub? In any case, we'll see you for a lovely final breakfast for Life Enjoyers.

The event runs from 13:00 on the day of arrival to 11:00 on the day of departure.
Bring appropriate clothing for the season and weather forecast. Good shoes and waterproof and warm clothes. We reserve the right to cancel the outdoor event if there is a fire ban.
Remember that clothing should be smoke resistant and not flammable.
The minimum number of participants is 6-8 people and then you have the villa all to yourself.
