Raskarum

One kilometre east of St Olof, on the way between Pipework and St Olof, is the small village of Raskarum. The surroundings are hilly with small fields, pastures, marshes and forest. Here we find Fridhill's chicken, which has been very successful with its chicken products.

Raskarum is not large, but these two names attract many visitors almost all year round. There is also a dog boarding centre. The settlement is mixed. Farms dominate, and the village has traditionally specialised in poultry production.

In Raskarum there are two branch roads. The one towards Ljunglyckorna winds through forest and small-scale agricultural areas and splits towards Snapparp and Lake Gyllebo. The turn-off leading northwards branches off towards Top bloke slopes and towards Södra Mellby. Both routes reward those who want to take a detour with a lot of beautiful, undulating nature, beech forests, meadows, sparkling water mirrors, wetlands and peat bogs.

The nearest larger community with school, retirement home, shop, restaurant, sports ground, swimming pool and church is St Olofbut it is also not far to Kivik, six kilometres.
