The surroundings are characterised by the outstanding sandy beach, dunes and beach forest. Kyhl is the starting point for a long stretch of phenomenal sandy beach that continues with some small, short breaks all the way to Ystad. Before the coastal road, the arable landscape spreads out and here you will find some of Skåne's most fertile soil.
The buildings on Kyhl's beach are mainly summer cottages and holiday homes, but there are also year-round houses. Most of the properties have been built over the past fifty years or so. Jansro with a shop and café is located here.
Kyhl borders Borrby beach, where a modern campsite offers more than 130 caravan pitches, a tennis court and, in addition to a refreshing sea bath, a 25-metre pool with lifeguard. The sea bath is very shallow and therefore ideal for children.
The nearest major town with shops and other services is Borrby, four kilometres inland, or Skillinge. Bus connections are available on the coastal road.
