Here, the stress runs off, in Vik, the charming old fishing village north of Simrishamn. Vik is located on a narrow strip of beach below the high sandy hills, surrounded by orchards. Vik is the oldest of Österlen's seven fishing villages and fishing has been of great importance over the years.

As early as the early Stone Age, people lived here with fishing as their main food hook, and in Viikki, the oldest fishing gear in the Nordic countries has been found. A workshop for making stone axes – folding axes, which are now sought-after items – also shows the former importance of Viikki.

The streets of Viikki are small, consisting of nooks and crannies. A village street ran through the fishing village in a north-south direction (RörumBaskemölla). When you stand by the harbor, you have an enchanting view to the north, the legendary mountain and also Sweden's southernmost national park: Stenshuvud. If the weather is clear, you can see the entire coastline all the way up to Åhus.

The Priest's Bathtub is a unique geological formation located just south of the Vik fishing village. In Skåne there are about a hundred similar formations, most of them in Österlen, but the Priest's Bathtub is the largest, most beautiful and most easily accessible. There is no clear explanation of how these funnel sinks were formed.

Vik has two golf courses, Djupadal and Lilla Vik , as well as restaurants, conference facilities and rooms. In Rörum , about 2 km north of Vik, there is the independent school Sofiaskolan, whose basic idea is taken from Waldorf education. Fruit orchards are typical for the eastern part of Österlen and in Vik there are also strawberry and tomato plantations of the highest class. It is here that the rocky coast turns into a sandy beach. North of Vik, the popular beach stretches out towards the Stenshuvud National Park.

The buildings vary and there is a balance between old and new. At the harbour, the houses are of the older model and the trees are sometimes winding and narrow. To the west of the road, the homes are newly built and the architecture is modern. The nearest towns with services such as schools, retirement homes and shops are Kivik, seven kilometres to the north, and Simrishamn six kilometres to the south. The hiking trail passes by.
