At the sharp bend in the southern entrance to Simris is the turnoff to Viarp, a village consisting of a number of farms and small houses. The surroundings are hilly agricultural landscape. In the central part of the village, the farms and houses are located around a square-like open space.
There is, among other things, a popular dog and cat boarding house. The nearest major town with services is Simrishamn with schools, travel center for bus and train, hospital, banks, municipal services, shops etc. The distance is about three kilometers.
From the neighboring village of Simris there is a protected pedestrian and bicycle path to Simrislundsskolan. The slopes in the north lead down to the winding valley of Tommarpsån.
