Forge village

Living and growing village.

When the Simrishamn-Malmö railway was electrified and the trains started running about 12 times in each direction daily, this brought new air into the lungs of old Smedstorp and the village is now a very lively and expanding community. From Smedstorp you can also go by bus. It takes 12 minutes to Tomelilla, 20 minutes to Simrishamn and just over an hour to Lund.

Smedstorp is now a good housing option for many who can consider commuting to work. There is also childcare, school, grocery store, postal service, hairdressers, carpentry factory, fire station, car company, library, etc.

Just west of Smedstorp along highway 11 is the popular Ingelsta Kalkon. There are many associations and the village has a number of talented craftsmen, artists and galleries. Especially during the Easter art round, activity is lively in the village. Many people visit, for example, the forging gallery with its exquisite garden.

In Smedstorp there is crazy golf, an outdoor swimming pool, tennis and boules courts, jogging tracks and a sports ground where Smedstorps IF mainly plays football. Around the village, the agricultural landscape dominates, but the wooded Listarumsåsen in the north is clearly different.
