Forest valley

Karl Aspelin has sometimes been called the first painter in Österlen, the Småland native who formed the so-called Kivikskollektivet in the villa with the fine view of the Baltic Sea from its location on the hill in Skogsdala. Even today, art plays a major role in the small "suburb" of Kivik.

In the terrain on the way up to the fantastic viewpoint Lilla Sten above the farm Bergdala is the Kivik Art Center. In addition to KAC, a lot of artists live in and around Skogsdala, which means lots of visitors during the art tour at Easter. Many also take the opportunity to visit Ulriksdal Garden in Skogsdala and Esperöd Manor with its famous arboretum and shops on Kivikås.

From Skogsdala you can also take off towards Stenshuvud National Park either via Karakås or Svinaberga. The settlement in Skogsdala consists of farms with strikingly clear elements of fruit cultivation and fairly large houses up on the slope towards the farm Bergåsa with a magnificent view of Hanöbukten.

There are bus connections both south towards Simrishamn and north towards Brösarp/Kristianstad. Services such as schools, shops, retirement homes, etc. are located in Kivik within easy walking distance north of the village.
