Onslunda

Quiet and historic residential area.

In the middle of Tomelilla municipality lies the historic handicraft village of Onslunda. The village has a lot of mixed buildings with mainly low houses. South of the village there are popular hiking grounds with deciduous forest-clad boulder ridges. North of the village is Onslunda stone, the old quarry, and here runs a beautiful beech forest belt from Fågeltofta to Tunbyholm where the tree frogs thrive.

There is a preschool, primary school years 1-6, a recreation centre, an association-run recreation centre, a library, a b&b, craftsmen, a carpentry factory and a unique brush museum. Of course, you can still take courses in brushmaking, a craftsmanship that has really put Onslunda on the map.

Associations are lively with an active village community, an alert pensioners' association and a lively sports club, Onslunda IF, with a number of activities on its programme.

The nearest train station is Lunnarp, nine kilometres from where you can reach Simrishamn-Malmö in each direction. It is ten kilometres to the travel centre in Tomelilla. The Skåneexpressen Kristianstad-Ystad can be boarded and disembarked in Skåne-Tranås , which is located four kilometres west of Onslunda. A regional bus to Tomelilla passes Onslunda.
