The surroundings are characterized by the outstanding sandy beach, the dunes and the beach forest. Kyhl is the starting point for a long stretch of phenomenal sandy beach that continues with some small, short breaks all the way to Ystad. Behind the coastal road, the arable landscape spreads out and here you will find some of Skåne's most fertile soils.
The buildings at Kyhls strand are mainly of a summer cottage and holiday home character, but there are also year-round houses. The vast majority of the properties have been built over a period of more than fifty years to date. Here you will find Jansro with a shop and café.
Kyhl borders Borrby beach, where a modern campsite offers more than 130 caravan sites, a tennis court and, in addition to a refreshing sea bath, a 25-meter pool with lifeguard. The sea pool is very shallow and therefore ideal for children.
The nearest larger town with shops and other services is Borrby, four kilometers inland, or Skillinge. There are bus connections on the coastal road.
