High up, almost midway between Södra Mellby and Vitaby, lies the small village of Bästekille, along the winding country road. To the west, Bästekille hills rise with pastures, stone fences and junipers. Around Bästekille there are several popular horse farms with riding halls and trail rides.
The view from the hilly terrain towards Kivik, Stenshuvud and the Baltic Sea is breathtaking. The distance to Kivik and S:t Olof, with services of various kinds, such as retirement homes, shops and schools, is about five kilometers. The village offers cultural activities such as art exhibitions. Bertil i Bästekille's farm shop offering organic vegetables etc. is also in the village. A stone's throw east of Bästekille is Friden with its popular, wood-fired pizzas.
