Gröstorp

Beautiful landscape full of life. Gröstorp has been put on the map mainly for sporting reasons. Cohesion in the village around sports in general, but football and table tennis in particular, has been very good. There is an excellent alpaca farm, horse breeding and a popular hostel: Bengtssons loge.

From the village, a pedestrian and bicycle path leads into Simrishamn and connects directly to both Korsavad primary school and Österlengymnasiet. North of the village, which mainly extends along the road towards Gladsax, is the Bäckhalla Valley, a piece of completely unique wilderness with rare endangered animals and plants.

Much closer, in the west, you will find a smaller area of valuable natural pastures, Impan, which is largely a nature reserve and Natura 2000 site. In the western part of the area there is a prominent rock face with old mining tunnels. The rare barbastelle bat hibernates here.

The buildings are of varying character, but no houses were built before 1900. In the western part of the village there are still a couple of detached farms. The distance to Simrishamn is more than half a mile by road and slightly shorter by bicycle. There are daily bus connections.
