Illstorp

Illstorp is located on the road between Christinehof and Önneköp in a varied landscape of fields and forest. The interesting Verkeån river meanders through the area, offering rare nature experiences all year round. Trout and grayling thrive here, and common terns, white-tailed godwits and kingfishers nest here. The flora is interesting with many different orchid species.

People have lived in the area for a long time. According to legend, Illstorp was named after the old Viking chieftain Ivgul. The settlement is mixed, with farms and houses. A lot of part-time residents populate the properties. The community spirit is well known and there has been a great deal of activity around the Illstorp Lustgård complex. The element of horse farms is clear.

A few kilometres northwest of Illstorp we meet a very exciting facility, Yangtorp Qigong Resort, created by Marcus Bongart, doctor of Chinese medicine, etc. The outstanding facility was opened in 2010 and offers accommodation in a modern hotel, conference and meditation rooms, temple, restaurant, etc.

The nearest major town with schools and services is Brösarp about a mile and a half to the east. Add five kilometres and we're at the sea.
