Onslunda

Quiet and ancient place of residence.

In the centre of Tomelilla municipality lies the historic craft village of Onslunda. The village has very mixed buildings with mainly low houses. South of the village are popular hiking areas with pebble ridges covered in deciduous forest. North of the village is Onslunda Sten, the old quarry, and here runs a beautiful beech forest belt from Fågeltofta to Tunbyholm where leafy frogs thrive, among other things.

There is a preschool, primary school years 1-6, after-school centre, association-run after-school activities, library, B&B, craftsmen, carpentry factory and a unique brush museum. Of course, you can still take courses in carpentry, a craft skill that has really put Onslunda on the map.

Community life is lively, with an active village association, an alert pensioners' association and a lively sports club, Onslunda IF, with a range of activities on its programme.

The nearest railway station is Lunnarp, nine kilometres where you reach Simrishamn-Malmö in each direction. It is ten kilometres to the travel centre in Tomelilla. Skåneexpressen Kristianstad-Ystad can be boarded and alighted in Skåne-Tranås which is four kilometres west of Onslunda. A regional bus to Tomelilla passing Onslunda.
