Gröstorp

Beautiful landscape full of life. Gröstorp has been put on the map primarily for sporting reasons. There is a strong sense of community in the village around sport in general, but football and table tennis in particular. There is an excellent alpaca farm, horse breeding and a popular hostel: Bengtssons loge.

From the village, a pedestrian and cycle path leads into Simrishamn and connects directly to both Korsavad primary school and Österlen upper secondary school. North of the village, which mainly extends along the road towards Gladsax, is the Bäckhalla Valley, a completely unique piece of wilderness with rare endangered animals and plants.

Much closer, to the west, is a smaller area of valuable natural pastures, Impan, which is largely a nature reserve and Natura 2000 area. In the western part of the area there is a prominent rock face with mine galleries from ancient times. The rare barbastelle bat hibernates here.

The buildings are of varying character, but no houses were built before 1900. In the western part of the village, a couple of parcelled-out farms still remain. The distance to the Simrishamn is over half a mile by road and slightly less via the cycle path. Daily bus connections are available.
