A stone's throw from the medieval castle Glimmingehus, along the road between Ö. Tommarp and Ö. Hoby, the small, but elongated, village of Glivarp is located in the middle of a hilly agricultural area with interspersed natural pastures, wetlands and damp leafy groves.
Glivarpa bog has a very rich bird life. There is also a rich marsh with a large population of the beautiful orchid marsh marigold. The settlement is mixed, with farms, detached houses and low residential buildings.
The distance to the sea is about half a mile, and the vast sandy beaches from Kyhl towards Sandhammaren and Löderup. The nearest town with services such as schools and shops is Hammenhög, four kilometres due west.
