A stone's throw east of the stately medieval castle GlimmingehusBuilt in 1499 by Jens Holgersen Ulfstand, the small collection of houses in Glimminge village lies along the winding village street. At the southern end of the village is the beautiful Glimminge farm, once the country estate of Glimmingehus.
The village is surrounded by arable land, deciduous groves and beautiful natural pastures. Glimminge bog, which lies just north of the village, is a wetland with rich plant and animal life. The deciduous forest around Gislöv's star offers a paradise for songbirds in spring and summer. Just north of Gislöv's star is Glimminge hallar, a large pasture area with unique flora.
Larger towns nearby with services of various kinds are Hammenhög, Skillinge and Borrby, about 7 km to the centre Simrishamn, about 9 km to the most beautiful sandy beach - Borrby beach.
