The view from the houses and farms in little Gärarp is breathtaking. Here the rolling Scanian agricultural landscape spreads out with Bollerup Castle in the foreground. Bångbacken is the highest point.
Gärarp may be a small village, but its creativity and entrepreneurial spirit are great. There are a number of different businesses here, such as a machine shop, electrical company and nursery. Agricultural high school Bollerup is located just east of Gärarp and of course gives its character to the landscape with high-tech agriculture and focus on horses clearly. Not far away is also Tosterup Castle.
The nearest major town with services of various kinds is Tomelilla, or in Simrishamn municipality, Hammenhög and in Ystad municipality, Glemmingebro and Köpingebro. The distance to the sea is just over a mile, with popular beaches such as Löderup and Sandhammaren within twenty minutes by car.
There is a bus connection to Ystad from Galjamöllan and Bollerup.
