Afrika-Micke - The natural way to go on a safari in Österlen

Forest valley

Karl Aspelin has sometimes been called the first painter on Österlen, the Smålander who formed the so-called Kivikskollektivet in the villa with the fine view over the Baltic Sea from the location on the hill in Skogsdala. Even today, art plays a major role in the small "suburb" of Kivik.

In the terrain on the way up to the fantastic viewpoint Lilla Sten above the Bergdala farm is Kivik Art Centre. In addition to KAC, a lot of artists live in and around Skogsdala, which means, among other things, lots of visitors in connection with the art tour at Easter. Many people also take the opportunity to visit Ulriksdal's garden in Skogsdala and Esperöd's manor with its famous arboretum and shops at Kivikås.

From Skogsdala you can also take off towards Stenshuvud National Park either via Caracas or Svinaberga. The settlement in Skogsdala consists of farms with strikingly clear elements of orchards and fairly large houses up on the slope towards the Bergåsa farm with a marvellous view of Hanöbukten.

Bus connections are available both southwards towards Simrishamn as northwards towards Brösarp/Kristianstad. Services such as schools, shops, nursing homes, etc. Kivik within easy walking distance north of the village.
