The tour starts with an introduction at the exhibition "Natural Resources at Ecotopia" at the Ecotopia meeting place. Based on permaculture principles, the exhibition is organised into seven areas: Eco-building, Energy, Water, Wild Food and Drink, Utility Plants, Cultivated Food and Drink, and Farm Animals.
During the tour presents sustainable solutions in a natural environment. This guided tour is about and wants to inspire ecological, energy-saving and climate-smart from a holistic perspective. Natural houses such as straw bale houses and building with clay, stone, earth and wood. Insulating with flax, hemp, sheep's wool and cellulose. But also building conservation, recycling and reuse. Painting with egg oil tempera, linseed oil paint and mineral paint. Closed-loop sewerage and waterworks. Solar electricity and solar thermal in combined heating systems. Natural resources such as wild edible plants, medicinal plants, useful animals and
beneficial insects and storage in cellars etc.
As we have also built a villa using straw bale technology, the tour ends in this self-build.
