Marketing executive Kelly Jones (Scarlett Johansson) is brought in to fix Nasa's image and sparks literally fly when she causes problems for launch director Cole Travis' (Channing Tatum) already difficult task. When the President declares the mission too important to fail, Jones is tasked with staging a fake moon landing as a backup plan. The countdown can begin.
